There was a time when gentlefolk of the charity donating kind did so with selfless discretion. Then came along those wristbands and the gratuitous glorification of giving.
But what the hell. Why shouldn't people display their incredible kindnesses and help a few people at the same time? So we've put our own particular spin on the charity garment. Whatever you've done wrong don't concern yourselves with hail Mary's, just wipe the slate clean with the Bored Of charity t-shirt - 'Does my conscience look good in this?'. When you get asked, which you will, you can explain in as much detail as required the depth of your generosity and kindliness.
Here's the deal: ALL THE PROFIT from this shirt will be donated to the UK's no.1 Children's Charity. Now a good old dollop of cynicism is fine (Bobby even wanted a "yeah right!" tattoo but he is covered in fur and untattooable) but this is NOT about us getting some free publicity off the back of an established charity. It's about giving you the right to feel genuinely smug and self congratulatory (so warming in these complicated times) and about helping some kids who deserve a whole lot better. So, you know who they are and what they do. We want to raise them some money in a discrete kind of way.
Perfect: Feel as good as you look and, though we can't prove it yet, we're fairly convinced that this t-shirt will make you appear more attractive in the eyes of others. Caring, giving, supportive, you know, all that kind of crap. Anyway buy it now and ditch that dirty wristband.
